I’m Crying if I Want To
It is my birthday today. I am another year closer to 30. I feel 40. I figured that the anniversary of my emergence from the womb is an appropriate day to post.
The positives of today in no particular order:
I got a hug from a co-worker today who also shares this birthing day (Thanks to Bonnie, and Go Penn State!!!).
A shortlist of famous folks that share my birthday:
Brendan Frasier (Encino Man)
Daryl Hannah (Splash)
Julianne Moore (Boogie Nights and Benny & Joon)
Katarina Witt (Ice Skating Babe…makes me wanna drink Diet Coke)
Anna Chlumsky (My Girl 1 and 2)
Holly Marie Combs (Charmed and Oceans 11)
Andy Williams (vocal stylist)
And the granddaddy of them all, the prince of f**king darkness:
Ozzy Osbourne
There was a present on my windshield this morning from a friend (Thanks to Missy) to start my day.
The e-cards from J. and Linda (both special from special friends. Linda is special because she puts up with my inane ramblings. J. is just “special” as in he who would get third place in the Special Olympics)
The 5 text messages from Damien that didn’t come thru (it’s the thought that counts). Eat some pudding and Western Civ is in 30 minutes (I get inside jokes).
Steak and Wine!!!
A pint!!! (it comes in pints)
The not so great things about today:
I had to go to work.
I had to work.
It sucked.
I have more work after the day was over than before it started.
I got propositioned (which would normally be a good thing) but a co-worker wanted to share with me about a “business opportunity”. She wouldn’t go into details when I pressed her for them, much less a name of the business that she works for “part time”. Can anyone say “AMWAY”? Supposedly it has to do with asset acquisition and management. I don’t think I am a mark, pigeon or schlep. So after unsuccessfully trying to get her to reveal the name of the company, I politely told her no thank you and good day. If she wanted to proposition me for something else, we could at the very least have an argument about whose car we’d use.
No b-day card in the mailbox.
Limited celebration due to work tomorrow…and the day after.
I a brief attempt to be serious: I thank my parents for continually praying for me and looking after me, and loving me. I hope I have made you proud at some point in my life.
So all that being said and knowing that I have the freedom of speech (especially today) let me leave you with this:
Marsupials don’t like Bologna (think Christopher Walken).
Bye then.
